This is truly the exhibit to end all exhibits – and that is really saying something at the Louvre. The entire Richlieu wing on the first floor now has dresses and accessories amongst the regular treasures of the galleries. It places all the gorgeous fashion creations in context. You can see the swankest of gowns in the apartments of Napoleon the Third and the metal works of the fashion greats in the armory with the breastplate of Henri IV.
This is part one – so stay tuned for part two in a few weeks. Grab a cuppa and enjoy the astonishing beauty. I encourage you all to look at the gallery full screen for the best experience.
